Tiger Warmer
One of my favourite treatment tools is the tiger warmer, an instrument that allows to use moxa, warmth, and pressure at the same time. It is used for gentle and relaxing treatments and an ideal tool for home use.
The Tiger Warmer consists of a special incense-like stick which is lit and put inside a double metal casing. The outside casing has a small hole at its rounded end, which is moved across the skin at varying speeds. This allows to use warmth, pressure, and the medicinal properties of the herbs from the incense all at the same time.
Uses of the tiger warmer
I use the tiger warmer
- to clear interference fields emanating from old scars or injuries
- to relieve muscle tension and pain
- to prepare stiff and cold muscles for further treatment
- for very sensitive patients as a substitute for moxa and sometimes even for needle treatment.
